Day at home

My friend, Kyle and I and a few friends of ours from high school are supposed to be traveling down south this weekend for a girls weekend. Unfortunately Kyle's kids have developed Strep throat and now Kyle said she's feeling funky too. Let's hope it's all in her head.

We still have our summer dog, Gabby. We love her so much, this time of summer is hard because we know we have to give her up until next year. She is such a loving dog and is so good with the kids. Lee went from being afraid of dogs when he first arrived to wanting to feed her every morning and change her water. He hugs her all of the time and grits his teeth together and says "I love you Gabby." Ellis loves her too and will do anything for her. Eva is good with her and is so helpful with her. She will walk her on our side of the block and even bag the doo doo. I think I might be taking Gabby home this weekend. I don't want to so I am avoiding making firm arrangments. Is that bad? The Curtis' are coming home this week and I know they would be thrilled for her to be there when they get home. After all, she is their dog.

Aside from that I am meeting Kyle to go to Nordstrom tonight. Woohoo.

Nice summer weekend

This has been one of those weekends that is so full of activities that you can't believe it is over.
Friday we spent the afternoon at my friend, Monique's house to let the kids all play. Yesterday we went to a party in the evening at a friend's house in our neighborhood. We had a great time but the kids stayed up way too late.
Eva had her bff spend the night last night and they are still togheter today. They always have fun together. My friend, Chris, and I took Lee and her son to a birthday party at one of those indoor bounce house play grounds. Lee went crazy...sweating through his head like a mad man of course, but he really had a wild time.
Now we hanging out trying to arrange a time that we can take our kids for a walk around the lake this afternoon.

These are pictures of our trip to Indiana. I have a few more I will upload at some point. Kaitlyn, Connor and Eva had such a fun time together.

Kyle, Craig and Sara have gotten so old all of the sudden. Sara is gorgeous. I have a few more pictures of her I will put on as well.

New Smyrna Beach

These are some pictures from a day we spent at the beach with some friends about a month ago.

Making a new blog

I have decided to start a new blog to include the happenings of our family. I enjoyed updating our blog, ourtravelsforlee.blogspot.com, but I really wanted something that didn't only focus on the adoption. More than anything I think I will use this area to share recent pictures of the kids and update all of their super exciting accomplishments.

We have just returned from a few summer trips. Trip stayed behind for most of them since he is limited on vacation time. Poor guy took almost all of his vacation at the beginning of the year for our trip to Vietnam. It makes for a long year for him. We went to Georgia in June with my girlfriends. It was our first time traveling to Elijay, we had a good time. We usually go to North Carolina but decided to mix it up a little this year.

We went to Indiana in early July and spent a week with my parents. The kids had a great time. It was nice for the kids to spend time with my parents. Eva misses having them around very much. Lee is still getting to know all of our family, but he has definitely developed and an attachment to my parents. Family and extended family is still a little tricky for someone in Lee's position. Family is something he has never had before, so we are working daily with him to show him how a family lives.

Ellis is still our little fire cracker. We just adore her little expressions now, however, she is approaching the age of three. In my experience, three is the age when a parent gets pushed to their limits! I'm getting geared up...also she is starting pre-school in August, two days a week. I hope it goes well for all of us.

I will post more later, but for now will just post a few pictures.
